Man arrested on suspicion of murder after discovery of woman's body

A man has been arrested in Somerset on suspicion of murder after the discovery of a woman’s body at a property in Wiltshire yesterday.

Avon and Somerset Police said a 51-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody at Taunton police station.

The arrest is in connection with the discovery of a body at a house in Melksham yesterday morning.

A post-mortem examination is likely to take place this afternoon and formal identification of the deceased will follow in due course, police said.

Wiltshire Police are still appealing for anyone with any information to call 101.
