Shepton Mallet maintained their 100 per cent record in Wessex Division 3 with a routine win over Knowle.

The home side took the unusual decision to deploy 11 outfield players and no goalkeeper in the first half. This actually made attacking somewhat difficult for Shepton, with Legg, Legg, Ward and Ceccini being unable to break through the packed back-line.
Fry, Ducheazeau, Bennets, Keen and Frost worked tirelessly in midfield to try and break down the Knowle defence, with Ducheazeau eventually finding a gap to open the scoring.

The player of the match soon added a second from a short corner as Shepton began to take control of the contest.
Knowle opted to put a player in goal as the second half got under way and Shepton soon started to play their natural game by passing the ball around with ease.
Visiting keeper House had a bit more work to do herself, preventing several penalty corners from hitting the backboards, while Green, Thorner and Squire also impressed in defence to maintain a clean sheet.
Squire got Shepton's third goal, tucking home after a penalty corner, before Ceccini completed the rout with a late strike.
