Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

The Southbound carriageway is still open but there is heavy congestion.

It is understood that concerns have been raised for the safety of a man on a footbridge over the carriageway, between Easton and St Werburgh's, north of the St Paul's junction.

A police negotiator is at the scene talking to the man, who police say has an "issue with a matrimonial problem".

Yesterday the motorway was closed in both directions during the afternoon rush hour due to a similar incident.

It is understood that the man involved in this evening's incident is a different man to yesterday.

UPDATE 8PM: M32 has now reopened.

Police are advising that there will still be some delays as the traffic clears.
