The project is the brainchild of the Yeovil Town Team – an alliance of 12 companies which are working together to promote Yeovil town centre and to make it a better place to shop, work and live in.
Amanda Beard, head of the marketing group for Yeovil Town Council and head of circulation at the Western Gazette, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for readers to save money in Yeovil and to bring people into the town to shop.
“We are delighted with the number of people who have signed up so far and want to give others the opportunity to join this fantastic scheme which will bring benefits to businesses and shoppers alike.
“It’s not just about getting people back on to the high street, it’s about rewarding people who are already shopping there.
“We are really pleased to be including a free card in next week’s paper and hope readers get the most out of this exciting new project.”
The reward scheme will run indefinitely and the offers will be changed four times a year.
Participating companies include restaurants Tamburino Ristorante, Mulberrys, Ciao Bella, Bella’s Bistro and Frankie and Benny, as well as bakeries Dutch Oven and Mortimers Bakery and sandwich maker Subway.
