Louis' feel-good factor to boost Shepton's elderly
THE Glen Residential and Nursing Home in Shepton Mallet is providing activities for residents as part of a Winter Wellness campaign.
The campaign is being run by Bupa in partnership with older people’s charity, Royal Voluntary Service. It aims to aims to encourage older people to stay both physically and emotionally well during winter.
A recent survey found the top ten feel-good songs for elderly people included the likes of Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World and The Beatles with I Want to Hold Your Hand.
During the week of November 11-17, Bupa’s care homes across Shepton Mallet will be treating residents and the local older community to live performances of the top ten feel-good songs in a bid to boost their feel good factor.

They will also be providing free food, exercise sessions and advice, including a winter warmer recipe booklet and Get Ready for Winter advice leaflet.
