Lorry's ruptured fuel tank caused diesel spillage at service station
Firefighters were called to clean up a diesel spill at a Somerset service station this morning after a lorry's fuel tank was ruptured.
One fire crew from Castle Cary attended the scene at Hazelgrove Services, Sparkford, near Yeovil, at around 7.50am.
"Fire crews confirmed one lorry leaking diesel fuel from its fuel tank which has been accidentally ruptured," said Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service in a statement.
"Crews stemmed the flow of diesel using a hardening paste and left the incident in the hands of mechanics, who drained the fuel tank and arranged recovery of the vehicle.
