Living costs soaring for the over-75s
Basic living costs for the over-75s have soared by a quarter in the last five years to nearly £10,000 a year, it has emerged.
The soaring price of utility bills, food and health have meant that pensioners are now experiencing a higher annual rate of inflation than anybody else in Britain.
And the study, conducted by AXA Life, revealed that if the trend continues, living costs of those aged over 75 will exceed those of people aged 20 years younger by 2016.
