Life is a drag with this hunt
Neither rain, nor ice nor snow stood in the way of an annual tradition when the Weston and Banwell Harriers met outside a Wedmore pub on Saturday morning.
Most of the group, which has about 55 members and about 70 hounds, gathered outside The New Inn, Wedmore, before setting off to a nearby drove for a hunt.
To comply with laws banning the hunting of foxes, a quad bike set off before the harriers to lay specially-scented cloth rags for the hounds to sniff out before racing to the next one, ensuring an enjoyable but tiring few hours for hounds, horses and riders.
The group's next hunt will be at the end of the week prior to the annual ball at the Webbington Hotel, Loxton.

“I think this is a lovely old country tradition. I am happy to see the hunts riding on after the MPs didn't listen to their evidence. I say, good on the hunts.”
