Library workshop helps to overcome writer’s block
A successful novelist returns to one of Bath & North East Somerset Council's libraries next week to lead a creative writing workshop for those struggling with writer's block.
Tricia Wastvedt, author of novels The River and The German Boy, will be at Midsomer Norton Library, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday 9 October, leading the workshop as part of the Council's "After Hours" programme of events to promote the wider use of libraries.

Tricia will guide participants; looking at techniques to overcome the blank page, how to keep going and develop ideas, what makes a piece of writing compelling and what might be lacking when it seems flat and uninteresting.
Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: "Bath & North East Somerset Council is pleased to welcome back Tricia Wastvedt to Midsomer Norton Library with this workshop which shows that there's more to the library.

"This is one of a number of events we are holding out of hours as we want people to get even more benefit from our libraries outside of their normal opening times. Having events such as these helps our libraries promote what they have to offer. We hope to inspire the next breed of writers, young and old – who knows; maybe one day they'll come back to lead their own master classes as successful writers themselves."
The workshop costs £10 but spaces are limited so anyone interested in taking part is advised to book their place in advance by visiting Midsomer Norton Library on the High Street or calling Council Connect on 01225 394041.
Tricia Wastvedt has led a number of successful workshops in the library over the last year.
