Lewis Powell goal gives Frome Town win over Redditch United
A very good goal from Lewis Powell allowed Frome Town to take all three points in their 1-0 win over Redditch United in the Premier Division of the Evo-Stik Southern League.
Indeed, their impressive second-half performance could easily have led to a larger winning margin.
Neither goalkeeper was really troubled in the first half, though Frome probably had the edge in both possession and territory and, with a little more accuracy near goal, they could well have sneaked an advantage at the break.
The second half started well for the home side as good pressure led to some half-chances, but the goal arrived in the 56th minute.

A through ball from Dean Evans was brilliantly chested on by Powell and, as he chased the ball into the penalty area under severe pressure from two defenders, he did really well to poke the ball into the corner of the net from 12 yards.
With Dave Gilroy having his best game for Frome and linking well with Powell, more goals seemed inevitable, and only a great save from James Wren denied Gilroy in the 65th minute.
The goals would not come, though, and with Darren Chitty dealing well with a couple of long-range shots late in the match, Frome were well worth their victory.
