Learn to act like Gregory Peck
An acting course – based on the work of the legendary Sandford Meisner – will be taught by International award- winning film director Jack Price in Bruton next month.
This short acting course is 100 per cent practical, taking people through one of the most extraordinary acting techniques, covering Meisner's core acting exercise and text analysis.
Among Meisner's students were Robert Duvall, Arthur Miller, David Mamet, Jon Voight, Diane Keaton, Lee Grant, Gregory Peck, Grace Kelly, Sydney Pollack and Steve McQueen.
Meisner became disenchanted with pure "method" acting and developed his own technique, which he taught at the Neighbourhood Playhouse in New York.
Jack Price is a writer, director and teacher, who lives in Bruton.
He teaches Meisner at the Tobacco Factory Theatre in Bristol, has written and directed for the BBC and Channel 4 as well as directing film extensively for Ridley Scott Associates.
His most recent film Indigo is running at film festivals around the globe and won an award at the 60th Berlin Film Festival 2010.
His film work includes a series of films made with Ralph Steadman whose exhibition with Keith Newstead is on show at Black Swan Arts, Frome, until Sunday.
The acting course at Bruton Community Hall, Silver Street, Bruton, runs on September 1, 8, 14, 22, and 29 and on October 6 from 7pm to 10pm.
The cost is £80 for all six evenings and bookings can be made on 07715683005 or e-mail info@studiofilm.co.uk
