Latest Somerset school closures due to snow - Friday, January 25

Two Somerset schools will remain closed for a third today due to this week's snow.

Churchstanton Primary School will not open due to snow and ice on the roads around the building.

The school said all staff who can get there safely today should do so from 10.30am, to work on getting the building ready for a Monday opening.

Cutcombe School is still closed due to fallen trees and snow on the surrounding roads.

Cannington CEVC Primary School will reopen this morning, but parents are advised that the school's East Street entrance will be closed due to the icy conditions.

Meanwhile, Hugh Sexey Middle School will also remain closed today following the roof fire on Wednesday morning.

The Blackford school hopes to reopen on a partial basis next Wednesday, January 30.
