Latest Acts to take to the Playhouse Theatre stage
NOVEMBER sees a variety of acts and productions take to the Playhouse Theatre stage in Weston.
Celebrating 30 years together The Blues Band, made up of Paul Jones, Dave Kelly, Rob Townsend, Gary Fletcher, and Tom McGuiness, will show on November 4 why they are acknowledged in Europe as being the finest purveyors of R&B, and have inspired numerous other blues bands.
Their fabulous musicianship is augmented by their close and personal understanding of Blues and their heartfelt pleasure in performing it.
A day later the Russian State Ballet of Perm will perform one of the most popular and best known classics - The Nutcracker.
The Perm Ballet Academy comprises 300 ballet dancers from all over Russia. Many of them have won awards in national and international competitions.
Well known in homeland and across Europe, welcome guests at great opera and ballet houses worldwide, Russian State Ballet Academy artists will perform at last in Great Britain.
For generations of theatre-goers, Peter Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker has been an integral part of the run-up to Christmas. This year will be no exception.
On November 6, Dave Spikey, who co-wrote and starred with Peter Kay as Jerry St Clair in Phoenix Nights, comes to Weston with the Best Medicine Tour.
He said: "When I was growing up , my dad, a man of many sayings, used to say to me "Laughter is the Best Medicine" - which is why , by the way, when I was six I nearly died with diphtheria.
"In later years I worked as a biomedical scientist and discovered that scientific evidence endorsed his wise words and it has indeed been proven that when we laugh our bodies release a cocktail of chemicals and hormones which reduce stress and blood pressure, lift depression, boost the immune system and here's the clincher it burns calories.
"So this is my small contribution to improving the health of the nation."

Gotta Sing Gotta Dance is a new breed of musical theatre featuring two hours or thrilling dance and song numbers from stage to screen.

Mixed with feel-good comedy routines, this definitely is a show not to be missed.
