Norton Down started this game full of confidence and more than matched the league leaders throughout.

Good passing in midfield from Sally Taviner and Sarah Swift put Norton on top and the home team found it difficult to cope with Lisa Saunders and Jessica Anstice in attack, but Norton were unable to capitalise on a number of short corners.

The sides went in level at half-time and, although Bath got more into the game in the second half, the Norton defence coped well with some good play, in particular from Sheryl Seviour, Rachel McCarthy and keeper Lotte Gay.

However, with only minutes to play and a draw looking inevitable, Bath created their only clear-cut chance of the game and Lilly Curnow scored to deny Norton the point they deserved.
