Langport by-election results: Turnout up as Colin Edwards and Jennifer McDonald elected
Langport went to the polls again yesterday the results published today show Colin Edwards and Jennifer McDonald have been chosen to serve on Langport Town Council.
This election saw 402 votes cast for five candidates yesterday and the turnout was just over a quarter of those eligible to vote.
Mr Edwards found the most support from electors, gaining 151 votes and Miss McDonald had 73 votes.
The other three candidates were fairly close with Clare Aparicio, who runs a local butchers, receiving 62 votes, green campaigner Lynn Glenister got 58 and the youngest competitor Adam Saunders also got 58 votes.

Retired lab technician Mr Edwards, 69, said he stood this time because of the embarrassing low turnout last time.
He said: "I'm very pleased that the turnout was better this time and all the candidates did a bit of canvassing.
"I would like to thank the people who voted for me very much."
