Laing's power aids century
Cranmore 203-6 beat Martock 109 all out by 94 runs
On a blustery autumnal day at Cranmore, the home team were comfortable victors in a late season match against Martock.
Batting first, Anthony Pang (29) and Sid Lawrence (9) got the innings off to a good start for Cranmore, putting on 32 for the first wicket.
The fall of Lawrence bought Sam Laing to the crease who, with 104, was the mainstay of the Cranmore innings. He displayed incredible power with little apparent effort, striking 12 fours and two sixes on the way to a well-deserved century.
For Martock, Sparrow (3-35), Bale (2-29) and Edmunds (1-32) bowled well, but it was not enough to prevent Cranmore amassing a competitive total. Runs from Richard Miles (20) in partnership with Laing pushed the total to 203-6 at the end of Cranmore's 40 overs.
Martock struggled in reply, with regular wickets meaning they could never really get into the game. The only sustained resistance came from A Crittos (47).
Cranmore's bowlers performed well, with wickets for Matt Garner (1-13), Sid Lawrence (3-9), Jack Ford (2-11), Mike Pang (1-19) and Anthony Pang (3-6), although the highlight of the innings was a spectacular diving catch from Matt Pang at cover.
With the temperature rapidly plummeting, the innings was eventually wrapped up by Anthony Pang in the 35th over to deliver Cranmore an easy victory.
