Shepton Reserves 1

Cutters Friday Reserves 5

After Shepton's midweek incident-filled 4-4 draw at Welton, normal service – given Shepton's season – was resumed at home when Cutters Friday Reserves racked up five goals to the hosts' solitary one.

The Bristol visitors took the lead after 10 minutes when a long punt downfield from keeper Neil Moore found Lee Dixon, who cut inside and fired home past Dean Bell.

Dixon then turned provider midway through the first half, crossing for Richard Kot to rifle in from the edge of the box.

With 10 minutes to go to the break, Cutters made it three when Kot scored with a left-foot low drive before completing his hat-trick soon afterwards.

Shepton enjoyed their best spell just before the break when Nick Loxton's free-kick found Roger Burr, whose cross-cum-shot was unluckily headed on to the bar by Rowlands.

In injury time, the home side did pull a goal back when a great cross by Brett Vine was duly obliged with by a good header by Ben Goodall.

In the second half, it was Vine who stole the show as he and Burr combined well down the right on a number of occasions to create chances for Rowlands.

With 15 minutes remaining, the visitors did make it five when Dixon scored from a Luke Sheppard cross.

Bell was outstanding again this week and, had it not been for him, it could well have been double figures.

Shepton Mallet would like to wish Ross Whittock a speedy recovery after his shoulder injury for Glastonbury at Shirehampton.
