Kingsdon Manor House restoration plan delayed again after council meeting
The future of the biggest development in a village near Somerton has been delayed again.
Councillors considering an application to restore a grade two listed Kingsdon Manor House, and create 21 homes voted to defer a decision until next month.

At a meeting of South Somerset District Council’s Area East this morning, Cllr John Calvert, the ward member, said he was for the development but he asked his fellow councillors to make a visit to the site in the village of Kingsdon before voting on the plans.
The applicant, The JB Development Partnership, said the work would be respectful of the local area and setting of the grade two listed manor house and argue that this development is the best way to ensure the house is preserved.

The main issues with the application are that it is mostly in a conservation area and there are concerns over the access, which makes use of a junction into the village described as dangerous by some residents and Kingsdon Parish Council.
