Keira Knightley is all smiles on set in Clevedon
Star of the Pirates Of The Caribbean films Keira Knightley made waves in Clevedon yesterday as she filmed scenes for her new movie.
Keira, who has been nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, appeared to be the glowing vision of health – contradicting rumours of her having an eating disorder.
Holidaymakers looked on as the actress appeared with fellow cast members on the set of forthcoming Brit flick Never Let Me Go.
Wearing a long coat with brown belt and black herringbone stockings, the 24-year-old looked a pretty picture as she strolled along Clevedon’s Grade I-listed pier. The attraction was closed all day while the shoot was under way.

The film will see Keira stepping away from her trademark period dramas, such as Atonement, and into a vision of modern Britain where clones are raised to be organ donors.
The story revolves around lead character Kathy – played by up-and-coming British actress Carey Mulligan, 23 – who recounts her memories of childhood and adolescence to tell the story.
Kathy and her friends grow up in boarding school, ignorant of the future ‘‘donations” they are set to make as adults.
Keira will star alongside Mulligan as Kathy’s best friend Ruth – the second time the pair have acted together after their roles as Elizabeth and Kitty Bennett in Pride and Prejudice. Rupert Friend, who has reportedly been dating Keira since the couple co-starred in Pride and Prejudice, was not on the scene.
Keira and the rest of the crew are expected to remain in Clevedon until Saturday.
It is understood that film crews will be using locations including the town’s historic Victorian pier, Hill Road and Six Ways for sequences in Never Let Me Go.
Shopkeepers in Hill Road were written to by the film company informing them that sequences will be shot in the area during today and tomorrow.
Never Let Me Go, based on the Man-Booker Prize-nominated book by British novelist Kazuo Ishiguro is set for release in 2010.
