Justin Pipe eases through in 2013 Ladbrokes World Darts Championship
Justin Pipe dropped just two legs on the way to a commanding 3-0 set victory over Andy Jenkins in the first round of the Ladbrokes World Darts Championships tonight.
The Force of North Curry near Langport eased past his opponent who entered the Alexandra Palace tournament ranked 82nd in the Professional Darts Corporation Order of Merit.
With Jenkins taking time to settle on the sport’s biggest stage after a two-year absence, world number nine Pipe flew out of the blocks, taking the first set 3-0.
The Force returned in similarly dominant fashion after the break, taking out 116 to seal the first leg of the second set.

Both Pipe and Jenkins missed doubles to take the next leg, but the former tree surgeon held his nerve to break throw and hit double four, then returning to take a sixth straight leg and the second set.
Jenkins finally got off the mark with the second leg of the third set, checking out with 70 to end Pipe’s run of seven straight legs.
The qualifier made the most of poor Pipe darts to take the next leg, but the Cash Converters Players Championship semi-finalist held his nerve by taking out double 16 to level.
Pipe then booked a second round clash with either Mark Walsh or Darren Webster on Sunday by checking out 64 to win the third set 3-2.
