Justin Pipe boosts hopes of PDC darts top ten ranking
Justin Pipe boosted hopes of climbing into the Professional Darts Corporation’s world top ten with impressive displays in the Championship League and Players Championship.
The Force of North Curry near Langport scooped £3,300 after finishing fifth overall in last week’s league winners’ group at Crondon Park, Essex. Pipe, currently ranked 11th globally, missed out on a semi-final spot on leg difference.

Pipe opened the day with a dramatic 6-4 victory over familiar foe Wez Newton. The pair shared 12 180s, with Pipe racing to a 5-1 lead before weathering a comeback to overpower his resilient opponent.
The former tree surgeon bounced back from a 6-4 loss to Jamie Caven to topple Simon Whitlock 6-3. He defeated Ronnie Baxter in his final clash, but defeat to Dave Chisnall in Pipe’s penultimate clash at the oche proved costly.
