Burnbridge Wanderers U16s 0
Cheddar U16s 11
Cheddar cruised to their biggest victory of the season with an accomplished display against Burnbridge.
Despite a lacklustre opening few minutes, Cheddar were quickly invigorated by a thundering Joe Morgan strike from 30 yards.
Adam Green then converted a penalty after Alex Tarquini was brought down and shortly afterwards Tarquini slotted a clinical finish inside the near post.
Slick passing throughout the team brought Cheddar chances with every attack, Will Becker and Tom Childs creating chances down the right flank and Ollie Childs, Andy Edwards and Darren Brooks on the left.
Taylor Rampton played some incisive balls through the stretched Burnbridge defence and Green used his pace to good effect to take another two goals before the break.
Tarquini then quickly added another to double his tally and Sam Coates beat the keeper to a cross to add his name to the scoresheet.
Tom Childs was given the opportunity to convert a penalty after Joe Morgan was knocked to the ground to bag his first goal of the season.
A nine-goal half-time lead provided a suitable cushion to experiment with formations, and both Morgan and Josh Hullah added goals late on in the game to move the score into double figures.
Cheddar Valley Jets U13s 3
Gordano Valley Giants U13s 2
Cheddar started well on an uneven pitch, going a goal up from a James Ashman shot that took a deflection.
Cheddar's defence of James Porter-Hunt, Spencer Williams, Matt Slater and Matt Prestidge played well, giving the Gordano forwards no chance at goal.
Shaun Adams, Jamie Mason and Oscar Smith played their part in this frustrating game and Cheddar soon went two up before half-time when a Connor Vipond pass went through to the ever-dangerous Jack Miller, who scored with a neat finish.
Cheddar missed numerous chances, with shots from Miller, Smith and Rhys Lewis aimed straight at the Gordano keeper.
With 10 minutes remaining, Cheddar's defence lost concentration and Gordano scored twice, giving Troy Williams no chance.
A rattled Cheddar side upped their game in the final minutes and nailed the win from a Rhys Lewis header, created from a superb cross from Vipond to take the Jets back to the top of the table.
Milton Nomads U9s B 2
Cheddar U9s B 3
Cheddar made the trip to Weston with keeper Oliver Crandon stepping up to the challenge and looking sharp during the pre-match warm-up.
Nomads got the early break, but Cheddar then steadied the ship, with solid defensive work from Fintan Carroll and Alex Peake.
The second half saw Alistair Davies take the pitch along with Tom Welchman. The visitors appeared revitalised and a strong run from Cheddar captain James King soon brought results, with a cross into the box allowing Sam Catling to level the scores.
Lewis Frost shut the door to any Nomads advance and Joe Bracewell fed long balls to William Britt and Catling in the midfield.
King then found a way to escape the home team's attempts to contain him on the wing, firing Cheddar into the lead.
King was involved in the next goal when his free-kick from 20 yards crashed into the Nomads' defence, before falling to Davies, who made it three.
Despite a late goal from the Milton, this was the under-9s' first win in weeks, and marked their most rounded performance of the season so far. Man of the match: Alistair Davies.
Cheddar U9s A 5
Milton Nomads U9s A 1
Against ninth-placed Nomads, Cheddar started well, with Ben Hill scoring his first of the season.
Strong play from Ollie Willis and Tom in defence meant that Jonathan Russell had little do in goal in the first half.
Great passing from Ollie Grant through to Louis Morris set up his first of the day, followed closely by Matthew Charles.
With Cheddar going into half-time with a 3-0 advantage, a strong talk from the coach was needed to keep their feet firmly on the ground.
In the second half, Milton pulled themselves together and pulled a goal back.
Cheddar continued to challenge, with superb passing through the midfield by Jack Ballard and Will Spinks creating a great lay-off from Matthew to Louis, who scored his second.
Cheddar hit back and Andrew Ford in midfield set up Matthew to score his second. Man of the match: Ben Hill.
