Shepton Mallet U14s Girls 5

Berrow U14s Girls 5

With Shepton having only eight players, Berrow generously lent them two players so all the girls got a game.

Shepton scored first through Naomi Marable, while Alison Rowan, Becca Holt and Sophie Robertson combined well together, but Berrow eventually broke through and scored two goals before half-time.

Amy Stone and Mollie Patterson worked hard in midfield, while Naomi and Emma Barnard took turns in goal, both making athletic saves.

Berrow scored again early in the second half, only for Naomi to put Keeley Hooper through to score.

Berrow again forged ahead from a corner, only for Shepton to reply quickly with a strike from Keeley. Then Naomi struck the ball hard from the right wing high across the goal, dropping into the top left-hand corner for 4-4.

Berrow scored a final scrambled goal, only for Naomi to complete her hat-trick. Shepton defended determinedly to the end. Player of the match: Mollie Patterson.
