Jos Buttler hailed the performace of captain Eoin Morgan after the duo helped England to victory in the second T20 match against India on Saturday, ensuring the series finished all square.

The Wedmore ace hit an unbeaten 15 off seven balls as he and Morgan (49 not out) saw England past the hosts' target of 177-8.

"It was a world-class finish from a world-class finisher in Eoin Morgan. He was very confident and that rubbed off on me.

"It's a great Christmas present. It was a world-class performance from everyone and everyone is delighted to get a win."

Two days earlier, another fine Buttler knock had been in vain as England lost the opening match in Pune by five wickets.

The Somerset wicketkeeper scored 33 not out off 21 balls but England then lost five wickets for 50 runs in the middle of their innings before eventually finishing on 157-6.

India comfortably reached the target for the loss of five wickets with more than two overs remaining.

England flew home for Christmas and the new year but will return to India for a five-match one-day series in early January.

Buttler and Somerset team-mate Craig Kieswetter are both in the national squad for the series, which starts in Rajkot on Friday, January 11.
