Jolly Hockey sticks with White to win
Sue Hockey and Janice White triumphed over a strong field in Wells Golf Club's ladies' Daily Mail Foursomes, recording a score of nett 73.5.
Gill Coglan and Julie Kinsey finished as runners-up, while third place was claimed by Philippa Gowen and Doreen Douglas.
Gerald Tonkins and Graeme Dowden won the men's equivalent event by the smallest of margins – 0.5 of a shot – from Mark and Robert Hynes.
Their winning score of nett 75.5 was enough to see them through to the annual knockout competition next year.

The Daily Mail Foursomes is regarded as the best amateur golfing event in the world, with approximately 200,000 players competing in their club qualifying rounds.
Entry is open to members of clubs in England, Scotland and Wales, with each club invited to enter one men's pair and one women's pair in the championships.
Wells' seniors ended their season with a resounding 6.5-0.5 victory over Shirehampton. The only half of the match was achieved by the pairing of Dave Hayward and Terry Pearce.
Victories were recorded by Nick Wilson and Allan Bancroft (7&5), Steve Bocquet and David Szymanski (6&4), Stuart Mann and Len Sweales (2-up), Ken Ford and Nick Carter (5&4), Ken Stokes and Lawrence Sokol (7&5), and Bill O'Callaghan and John Moxon (6&5).
In the 115th annual match against the Clergy, Wells' seniors recorded a 5-0 whitewash.
The pairings of Dave Hayward and David Szymanski (4&3), Terry Pearce and Ron Hancock (3&2), Stuart Mann and Nick Carter (6&5), Bill O'Callaghan and John Watson (8&6), and Peter Leverick and John Moxon (3&2) all performed well.
The senior ladies contested the Pamela Manuel Trophy, with Daphne Pring securing a comfortable win over her rivals.
