John Aldham wins Glaston Manor angling event at Baltonsborough
Fair weather greeted the 21 anglers competing on the River Brue at Flights Weir, Baltonsborough, for Glaston Manor Fishing Club's latest event.
Recent rain had not affected the levels, so clear conditions prevailed but as the match progressed the skies darkened and hard rain ensued.
John Aldham took top spot with a haul of 17lb 6oz of quality chub on shuttles bend. Paul Davis edged out Clive Glisson to secure second place after the pair recorded 13lb 15oz and 13lb 0z respectively, with nine perch featuring in their catches.
Bernie Wingrove was fourth on 9lb 3oz, Derek Jack came fifth with 7lb 11oz and Nick Hughes recorded 4lb 15oz for sixth spot.
The next club match is the teams of four event on Sunday, November 3. Entries should be made to John Ogden, whose number is on the license.
