Welton, Bibby and Baron is the largest producer of recyclable paper bags in Europe and the move will bring to an end a history of paper packaging in the town dating back more than 150 years.
The factory site has been acquired by land speculators Terrace Hill Group, who are looking to build a supermarket and housing development on the land.
