Inquiry into Midsomer Norton homes plan
More than 20 local residents attended the opening of a public inquiry into plans for new homes in Midsomer Norton.
An appeal has been lodged by Taylor Wimpey Homes against Bath and North East Somerset Council's refusal of permission for 135 homes at Monger Lane, Welton.
Government inspector Jessica Graham will decide whether the application, which includes vehicle access from Monger Lane and public open space, should go ahead.
It was rejected because B&NES thought it would have a suburbanising impact on a prominent hillside and cause traffic problems.
