Improvement being shown
Cheddar U10s 1
Milton Nomads U10s 4
In an entertaining game, Cheddar can count themselves unlucky to lose by a three-goal margin.
They played with tremendous spirit and again showed their overall improvement as a team.
In goal, Leighton was on top form, while Luke and Ryan were in control and restricted the opposition to long-range shots.
Oli, Michael and Jo worked hard competing for every ball and Josh up front worked well.
Cheddar created a number of chances but failed to take them, while at the other end, the opposition were clinical in front of goal.
Cheddar fell two goals behind in the first half and in the second they went further behind before Michael gave them a lifeline.
Despite their best efforts, Cheddar could not find the finishing touch to some great moves and allowed Milton to snatch a last-minute goal.
Man of the match: Michael Maloney.
Cheddar U10s B 1
Milton Nomads U10s 2
A superb long-range Milton Nomads free-kick is all that prevented Cheddar from earning a well-earned draw.
Cheddar produced a fine display of competitive and energetic football, and were unlucky to concede in the first half when a low effort found its way into the net through a pack of players.
This acted as a signal for a great Cheddar fightback that was led by Elliott Veal and Ashton Worthington, resulting in a goal for Ashton from a long-range strike that deceived the Nomads keeper.
Cheddar defended fiercely, with Archie Williams, Ben Mayes and Lucy Burgess in great form.
Harry Hooper handled well throughout and made some great saves to deny the opposition as the game intensified.
Rebecca Hiles and Ben Chick made probing runs, linking well with Elliott and Ashton, and keeping the match level until that Nomads free-kick.
Man of the match: Elliott Veal.
