Ilminster 50-acre solar farm extension approved
PLANS to extend a solar farm near Ilminster from five acres to 50 making it one of the biggest in the country have been approved.
South Somerset District councillors made the decision at a meeting on Wednesday despite fierce opposition from residents of nearby villages such as Stocklinch and Whitelackington.
The successful application means more than 40,000 panels can be added to the existing solar farm at Parsonage, Dillington, alongside the A303.
