The Museum of Somerset, at Taunton, is welcoming visitors to an illustrated talk on the nationally important Roman treasures displayed there, including some found in mid-Somerset.

Roman Treasures in the Museum of Somerset with Steve Minnitt, Head of Museums, takes places on Thursday, March 21.

There Steve will tell the story of the Shapwick and Frome coin hoards, the Low Ham Roman mosaic and the recently-discovered figurine of Capricorn.

The Museum of Somerset is home to thousands of intriguing Roman finds – the Frome Hoard, for example, is the largest collection of Roman coins ever discovered in Britain in a single container.
