A severe weather warning for ice in Somerset and the South West has been issued starting from this afternoon and remaining in place until tomorrow morning.

Outbreaks of rain, sleet and some snow will gradually clear southwards during Saturday night, and with temperatures falling rapidly through the evening and night, there is a risk of icy surfaces.

While up to 2cm of snow is possible on some higher level roads, it is the risk of ice which is expected to be the main problem.
