Ice warning for Somerset with further snow showers forecast
Somerset has been warned to expect further wintry showers of sleet and snow this morning.
Rain, sleet and snow fell on parts of the county overnight, prompting the Met Office to issue a severe weather warning of ice today.

"Surfaces will remain wet from earlier showers and from continued showers of rain, sleet and snow, allowing ice to form," said the Met Office in issuing its yellow warning.
It is in place until 11am, and the public have been warned to expect icy stretches on untreated roads and pavements.

The Met Office also said snowfall of up to 5cm was possible on higher ground in the South West.
High winds have also been forecast to batter the region today.
Gusts of between 60 and 75mph are expected to hit Cornwall and Devon today, with a separate yellow warning in place until 5pm. West Somerset could also be affected.
