Hugh Sexey Middle School in Blackford will reopen today after last week's fire.

The school was shut for seven days after a blaze broke out on Wednesday last week. Since then pupils have been working at home and teachers have been working with contractors to restore power to the 620-pupil premises.

Head teacher Jenny Venning announced the re-opening yesterday afternoon. But she warned no pupils should be brought to school before 8.40am on Thursday morning.

Pupils who use fire affected rooms 8SK and 8GDA also need to bring their padlock keys to empty their lockers before the rooms are deep cleaned. A limited cafe service is available.
