Huge cannabis factory discovered in Clevedon after passing PCSO smells plant
A massive cannabis factory was discovered in North Somerset yesterday after a passing police community support officer smelled the plant.
PCSO Yvette Mayo was making house-to-house enquiries in Redhill, Clevedon, when she caught a whiff of what she thought was cannabis coming from the outbuildings of a nearby farm.
A full search of the premises uncovered 800 plants, ranging from seedlings to mature 6ft tall plants.
PC Dave Hughes said: "The plants seized were worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. People shouldn't be misled that cannabis factories are a harmless money maker - they mean large profit for the serious criminals behind them."
