The vomiting and diarrhoea-causing norovirus has closed wards in some hospitals serving mid-Somerset.

Visitors are advised to check with hospitals before travelling for advice on any restrictions.

At the time of going to press, four wards were closed to new admissions and transfers at Musgrove Park Hospital and in Yeovil District Hospital the situation was one.

No wards were closed at Weston General Hospital, which serves the Cheddar Valley.
