The Patient Experience Action Team (PEAT) has praised Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, which takes patients from mid-Somerset, for providing an excellent environment, high- quality food and for prioritising privacy and dignity for patients.

The PEAT assessment teams are made up of staff and patient and public reps. They assess areas in accordance with specific checklists and their scores are validated externally.

Catering manager Jon Smith said "These are strict assessments. "They assess us on nutritional value, choice and quality. Last year we received a good score so we were very pleased to be upgraded to excellent this year."
