Honours even as Robins' unbeaten run continues

Frome Town and Yate Town shared the points in a 0-0 draw that never really came to life, extending the Robins' unbeaten league run to 11 games and producing their third clean sheet in seven days.

With injuries and wedding commitments causing the loss of Callum Henry, Iain Carr, Joe Gomes, Alex Lapham and Matt Minnis, manager Darren Perrin started the match with Matt Peters moved to central midfield alongside new signing Jordan Metters.
On a softish pitch that had recovered remarkably well from the standing water of the previous day, Frome were first to show when, in the fifth minute, Cheeseman rose to meet a corner, the ball falling to top scorer Luke Ballinger, who shot over from 25 yards.
Frome were a little lucky in the 11th minute when a long Yate goal kick dropped invitingly for Simpson but the winger failed to get any force on the shot and Jones saved easily.
The hosts came back through Ballinger in the 13th minute as his right-foot shot fizzed past the post from 25 yards and the home crowd held their breath in the 13th minute as Cheeseman wrapped an arm round Adams as the striker chased another long through ball, but the referee only brandished a yellow card. Jones did well to punch the ball clear from the resulting free-kick.
The match was struggling to really get going and chances were few and far between. Reaney picked up an injury in the 32nd minute and was replaced by Dave Thompson, with Peters moving to right back.
Cheeseman just failed to get his head to a left-wing free-kick in the 33rd minute and Yate broke quickly, causing Jones to come well out of his area to head the ball clear.
After the break, Yate started the quickest and Jones had to be alert to deal with a wickedly swerving 20-yard volley from Vahid after a defensive mistake.
Frome began to settle and the 53rd minute saw Mark Salter pull a cross back from the dead ball line, only for Ricky Hulbert to get his head to the ball but direct it back in the same direction.
Yate looked dangerous in the 62nd minute when a low, fast left-wing cross to the near post saw Greg Lake do well to flick the ball past the far post as he slid in to retrieve the situation.
On 65 minutes, Ashley Clarke and Sim Allison replaced Hulbert and Metters, and this seemed to lift the team as Allison's pace and Clarke's passing range contributed to Frome's best spell of the match.
As the tempo increased, the home crowd started to get behind the team and Salter went close in the 67th minute when he poked the ball just over the bar in a crowded penalty area.
The 71st minute saw the chance of the match as a Frome corner led to a Ballinger shot that thumped against the Yate bar and bounced down on to Cheeseman's knee, the ball cannoning off him straight into the arms of Dempsey in the visitors' goal.
However, Frome's purple patch faded a little and Yate came back into the game. The last 10 minutes of the match saw Yate spending a lot of time in the Frome half, with only sporadic raids to warm the crowd.
Man of the match was Peters.
