Honey, it must bee a new sculpture for Central Library
NEVER mind bookworms – it must have been a swarm of bookbees that created this sculpture.
This December, Bristol's Central Library will host BookHive, a large-scale interactive sculpture of books celebrating 400 years of public libraries in the city.
It is funded by Arts Council England and is being designed and developed by Bristol-based creative robotics experts Rusty Squid.
The group has already developed a fully-working prototype at their Spike Island workshops. This has been amusing customers during testing at Easton's Junction 3 library.

The Central Library is now searching for volunteer BookHive keepers to help visitors engage with the artwork, record their reactions and keep the installation – which is animated by animatronics – looking its best.
The project runs from December 7 until March 7, and volunteer support will be required throughout. For an application pack or information, email email@example.com or call 0117 903 7200. Closing date for applications is 5pm on November 18.
