VETERAN fundraiser Tony Hall is appealing for volunteers from Weston-super-Mare to help rattle collecting tins on behalf of the Afghan Heroes charity.

Tony, who coordinates fundraising efforts on behalf of the charity, is looking for helpers to collect donations ahead of the Bristol to Weston sponsored walk he is organising on February 9. Tony will be leading a team of walkers from the statue of Neptune in Bristol city centre to cover the 22 miles to the Grand Pier.

He has already raised hundreds of pounds for the charity set up in 2009.

Tony said: "The charity has just opened its first post-Services facility in Ashcott near Glastonbury and the money we raise will help former Armed Forces personnel rebuild their lives."
