Heavy rain forecast prompts new severe weather warning for Somerset
Further heavy rain is forecast to hit Somerset later this week, with the Met Office issuing a new severe weather warning for the county.
The yellow alert will be in place for the whole of Friday and the early hours of Saturday morning as torrential downpours are expected to lash the region.
The Met Office said it expects to update its warning closer to the weekend.
"There is the potential for periods of heavy rain across much of the southern half of the UK from the beginning of Friday until Saturday morning," it said.
