Heat is on as covers attract national TV
IT started because Ben fancied Laura and now it's been chosen by ITV and has celebrity fans – the O'Sullivans Totally Rad radiator covers are getting hotter and hotter.
They may have become official suppliers for ITV's 60 Minute Makeover, but when Wells gas engineer Ben offered to cover an unsightly radiator for his now-wife, he never thought it would lead to this.
Ben said: "I guess flowers would have been a safer bet."
His creative advances did the trick, however – the couple are now married with a one-year-old son.
During the pregnancy they set about designing a themed nursery for the young O'Sullivan, and Laura was struck by a frustrating lack of choice for nursery radiator covers.
A business plan later Totally Rad was born – producers of bespoke covers.
The business quickly took off and hasn't paused for breath since.
Ben, who has worked in the Wells area for several years, regularly puts in 90 hour weeks, starting at 5am making the covers before going on to his day job.
Laura, while being a full-time mum, drives the office side of the business.
An appearance on ITV this November seems certain to help the business grow even bigger, and Ben expects things to get much busier.
Ben said: "We are getting ourselves prepared for it. We are delighted to have been selected by ITV, and we look forward to the boost it will give to our profile.
"We are currently working with a selection of children's nurseries as well as interior designers in Manchester and London on exciting projects up and down the country.
"With Twitter fans such as Loose Women's Coleen Nolan and design-duo Colin and Justin we know our products appeal to the masses. Our goal is to make a totally recognisable brand – a Totally Rad Cover."
