Hats off to the winners at Turkey Trot competition

The regular festive team competitions at Frome Golf Club were well supported, despite the cold and wet weather.

Fancy-dress hats were compulsory for the Turkey Trot, which saw the trio of Jon Potter, Harry and Jamie Phillips come out on top.

Brian Ledbury, Pete Kivi and Nick McCulloch were runners-up, while third place went to Pete Rumming, Derek Walford and Trevor Atkinson. The best dress prize went to Pauline Jones for her Wilma Flintstone attire.

The Christmas Committee Shambles is the final club competition prior to the festive season and again proved popular, with teams of four battling for victory.

Mike Salmon, Rich Clifford, Trevor Atkinson and Bruce McGurk eventually took first place ahead of Andrew King, Stephen Salmons, Vic Simpson and Pete Rumming.

Andy Martin, Tom Chapman, Jamie Phillips and Myles Carpenter finished in third spot.

Following the Shambles, a cheque for more than £5,000 was presented to the Dorothy House Foundation – the chosen charity of last year's captains, Lucy Allen and Nick McCulloch.
