Hairspray coming to Kings of Wessex Academy in Cheddar
Clever costumers and beehive hairstyles are coming to The Kings of Wessex Academy in Cheddar with Hairspray.
The musical based on 1960s segregation and integration in America's Baltimore promises to be a lively evening of music and dance.
Pleasantly plump Tracy Turnblad (Lucy Kelson) gets herself a spot on a local TV dance show, mingling with other charmingly colourful-sounding characters – not least Motormouth (Hayley Chidzey) and Corny Collins (Spencer Williams) singing favourites You Can't Stop The Beat and Good Morning Baltimore.
Directed and produced by drama subject leader Simon Shorrock, Hairspray is in the main hall on four nights from Monday, February 4, to Thursday, February 8, at 7.30pm.
