THE HAMSTERS
The Hamsters will be performing a three set special at the Cheese and Grain, Frome, as part of their farewell tour on Saturday, February 25.
The band said: "We're now into the last few weeks of our 25th year together, and will retire on the weekend of March 31, 25 years to the day since we had our first rehearsal.
"We've always thought about ending the band on a high after 25 years, and decided to have one year to play to everyone before we say farewell."
Now in their 24th year together, having performed almost 4,500 concerts, the Hamsters are established as the UK's premier blues-rock attraction.
This has been achieved purely by hard work with the band, featuring Slim (guitar and vocals), Rev. Otis (drums) and Zsa Zsa (bass), handling all their own affairs, thereby disproving the popular misconception that it can't be done without major-label "muscle".
Originally forming for their own amusement, members of the band have performed with artists such as Eric Clapton, Alison Moyet, Doctor Feelgood, Walter Trout and the late, great gentleman of British blues, Alexis Korner.
