Guilty of breaking window and assaulting police

THE following Bridgwater and Burnham area court cases have been heard at Sedgemoor Magistrates' Court:

John Wontroba, 54, of Charlotte Court, Highbridge Quay, Highbridge, was found guilty of criminally damaging a double-glazed window, assaulting a police officer, using threatening words and behaviour. Electronically tagged and restricted under the confines of a community order. Placed under a curfew for six months, ordered to take part in a 10-day training for employment course and ordered to attend meetings with a Sedgemoor probation officer. Told to pay £350 compensation and £50 costs.

Aleksandrs Kunakovs, 47, of Taunton Road, Bridgwater, was found guilty of driving without insurance. Fined £240 and ordered to pay £50 costs. Six penalty points were added to Kunakovs' driving licence.

Deborah Lorraine McMurray, 40, of Middle Stream Close in Bridgwater, was found guilty of assault by battery. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £100 costs.

Patrick Zwierzynski, 33, of Linley Close in Bridgwater, was charged with and found guilty of driving without insurance and failing to display a valid vehicle licence. Fined £400, ordered to pay £100 costs. Six penalty points were added to Zwierzynski's driving licence.

John Charles Carberry, 48, of no fixed abode, was found guilty of criminally damaging a pane of glass in a phone booth in Highbridge and a pane of glass in a bus stop. Ordered to pay £110 compensation.

Mark Anthony Newbury, 27, of Willoughby Road in Bridgwater, was found guilty of obstructing a water bailiff while carrying out official duties. Ordered to pay £100 fine and £515 costs.

Robert Johnston, 55, of Riverside Close in Bridgwater was charged with and found guilty of harassment and breaching a restraining order and breaking the confines of a suspended prison sentence. Placed under new confines of a community order and forced to carry out 40 hours community service within the next 12 months. Told to pay £60 costs.
