Grease was the word
THIS week, we take a trip back to the 50s, as they were portrayed by an am-dram group in the 80s. This photograph shows some of the cast from Grease, which was being performed at Strode Theatre in 1988.
All the actors in this photo were playing The Burger Palace Boys – who went on to be renamed the T-Birds in the film adaptation – having a bit of a sing-song about the virtues of their car, Greased Lightning.
They were all members of Strode Productions, riding high after winning a Rose Bowl Award for their production of West Side Story the previous year.
