Golden wedding couple celebrated with a song to raise cash for scanner appeal
Golden wedding couple Bryn and Teresa Hawkins celebrated their special day with a song to raise funds for the new cancer scanner appeal at the Royal United Hospital.
Bryn is a stalwart of the Mendip Male Voice Choir and the couple organised a party with the singers and their family. Bryn and Teresa, who live in Camerton, were married in Radstock after meeting by chance in Timsbury.
Their first date was to a fun fair in Bath.
While Teresa worked for 30 years as a receptionist at Boswell Dental Surgery in Midsomer Norton, Bryn was an engineer in the mining industry, and was at Writhlington 40 years ago when the pit closed.
