Glastonbury's back - with traffic jams and a rainy forecast
A BUSY first day for Glastonbury Festival saw roads around the site gridlocked on Wednesday.
Some festivalgoers reported taking as long as two hours to make the short final stage of the journey from Shepton Mallet to Pilton.
Two major accidents on the M4 and the closure of Castle Cary railway station due to overcrowding added to the logistical nightmare as an estimated 60,000 people (three times the figure of last year's Wednesday attendance) tried to make their way to Worthy Farm.
As more people roll onto the site, there's talk of another mud bath with heavy rain forecast for today and a humid weekend to follow.
