Glastonbury 2014 lineup rumour roundup
GLASTONBURY Festival line up rumours have been cropping up and spreading like wildfire all over the internet.
This year’s headliners have already been chosen, and festival organiser Michael Eavis said they have never played at the Pilton event before.
Fleetwood Mac were the bookies’ favourite, but rumours have been quashed following the band’s announcement that bassist John McVie is being treated for cancer.
Still strong on the rumour-league are French electronic duo Daft Punk, along with David Bowie and Led Zeppelin.
New acts tipped to perform include Dolly Parton, who has a Glastonbury-sized slot in her tour diary next year. Prince, Foo Fighters and the Eagles have also been suggested.
Breakbeat duo Stanton Warriors were the first act to be publicly confirmed for the festival, revealing the information on their Facebook page.
Echo and the Empress, a South Australian based musical collaboration of two sisters, have also confirmed they have been booked for the John Peel stage.
This year’s tickets sold out in a record time of 87 minutes. Registration is now open again for the resale of tickets in April.
